Backstage News On When WWE WrestleMania Could Potentially Return To New Orleans
Over the last few years, WWE has found themselves owing certain cities a WrestleMania, including Indianapolis and New Orleans. The latter city in particular has reason to expect a show after WWE announced WrestleMania 41 would be taking place in the city, only to reverse course months later and move the show to Las Vegas. Fortunately, it appears WWE is ready to make due on New Orleans' owed WrestleMania; unfortunately, it may still be a few years away. Fightful Select reports that the New Orleans Superdome currently has a hold on it from March 12 to April 21 in 2029, with one source saying the hold was done in conjunction with WWE.
Those close to the situation stated that normal circumstances would dictate two-week hold for events like concerts, with that period of time being used to load in equipment for the show. It's believed that the longer period of time provided to WWE here is because it would allow the promotion more time to come up with dates to hold two nights of WrestleMania, presumably during the time window given.
All of this suggests that WWE is planning on holding WrestleMania 45 in the Superdome in the spring of 2029, though there is no hard confirmation the event will happen in the city, nor does it prevent WWE from changing their mind and moving the show out of New Orleans as they did in 2025. Given that 2029 is still two and a half years away, it would also suggest that WWE may already have plans for a location regarding WrestleMania 44 in 2028, though no such details were provided. WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia this upcoming April, the first WrestleMania to take place outside of North America.
