AEW and ROH star Anthony Henry needs yet another surgery.

A few weeks ago, Henry posted a reel on Instagram that he may need neck surgery to deal with an ongoing issue that he's dealt with since 2021. At the time, he wasn't sure if surgery would mean he would never wrestle again. On Thursday, he posted an update to X (formerly known as Twitter).

"I haven't been active on here, but I at least wanted to give any fans of myself or the #Workhorsemen an update. My neck is kinda screwed. I will need surgery. The herniated disc is on the spinal cord itself, which makes this even more scary. Recovery is anywhere from 3-6 months," he explained.

He followed up by saying he hopes to return to the ring and thanked AEW.

"With that being said, I plan on returning a new, better, stronger, and more motivated version of myself. Thank you to @AEW and the medical staff for taking such good care of me throughout all of this. I can't wait to be back in an AEW again ASAP!"

In addition to his neck issues, he has also been battling with a torn bicep. After the bicep was surgically repaired, he developed Heterotopic Ossification, a condition that causes bone to grow where it shouldn't. For Henry, that meant bone growing on top of other bones. This kept Henry from being able to fully rotate his right arm and he struggled to turn his right palm up. Amazingly, Henry was still able to wrestle with this condition, albeit at only 60%. In August, he had another procedure to deal with it.

In 2024, Henry suffered a broken jaw in a match on the indies. During his recovery, he was released by AEW only for Tony Khan to change course a few days later.

Henry and his Workhorsemen tag partner, JD Drake last wrestled in July on "Dynamite: Beach Break" against Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. His last singles match came on the July 31 edition of ROH Honor Club where he lost to Juice Robinson.
