Joe Hendry Reveals Favorite WWE Entrances Themes From Past & Present
If there's one thing that WWE's Joe Hendry has his finger on the pulse of, it's wrestling theme songs, especially since he arguably has the most popular wrestling theme of the last several years in "I Believe in Joe Hendry." But what are some of Hendry's favorite themes that don't involve him on lead vocals? In an appearance on "TMZSports' Inside the Ring," Hendry was asked that question almost immediately. He began with his favorite songs from wrestling history, and while there's two he feels are iconic, one mega star's theme stands out as his A#1.
"Okay, so [my] favorite theme of all time is The Rock's Hollywood theme," Hendry said. "That just, like, as a fan, it gave me goosebumps watching that. I think some really iconic ones? Obviously, Steve Austin's glass smash, and 'The Game' by Motorhead is iconic as well."
Hendry then segued into a discussion about current WWE themes, a polarizing subject within the WWE fanbase due to the overall negative reception to themes created by WWE's inhouse composer Def Rebel. Hendry was careful to avoid any criticism of modern WWE themes, insisting that there were plenty of strong ones. In terms of ones he thinks that work, Hendry believes they feature a certain quality, with Trick Williams' theme song having that in abundance.
"On the current roster, there are some great songs," Hendry said. "I think ultimately songs that are about crowd interaction [work best], so I think they did a really great job with Trick's song. There's so many good ones."
