One of TNA's recent signees Ricky Sosa will be sitting out of in-ring action for the time being after it was revealed on this week's episode of "TNA Impact" that he's suffered a "severe back injury."

As part of its weekly show, "Impact" provides an "injury report" segment that details the rosters' current injuries (both storyline and real) and the expected timeframes of how long they'll be out of action. In last night's segment, TNA announced that the European star obtained his back injury during the number one contenders ladder match for the TNA World Championship on the October 15 edition of "Impact."

During the match, Moose powerbombed Sosa out of the ring. Moose attempted to send Sosa crashing through a propped-up ladder, but Sosa's back grazed the ladder before landing on the floor. As of this report, TNA said that Sosa is unable to compete, but did not provide a timeframe of how long he'll be out of in-ring competition.

Sosa officially signed with the promotion at Sacrifice this past March. His first big feud under contract was against former talent Eric Young. Sosa scored a major victory over the veteran on the "Countdown to Slammiversary" in June. After he turned his attention towards The System. That rivalry officially ended at Bound for Glory earlier this month with a win over the System's leader, Eddie Edwards.
