AEW Star Willow Nightingale Provides Update On Hand Injury
Former AEW Women's World Champion Willow Nightingale has been battling a hand injury since the end of August, days before she defended, and lost, her championship to Mercedes Mone at AEW All In London 2026. The star took to her Instagram stories on Friday to address how she's healing, as she hasn't wrestled in a little over two weeks.
Replying to a fan question during a Q&A session on her stories, Nightingale revealed her hand is "better," but still not 100 percent healed. She posted the update alongside an image of herself driving using a machine on her left hand.
"Still using that bone stimulator every day, even if I have to fit it in while stuck in traffic," Nightingale said.
After losing her championship in London, Nightingale battled Thekla at AEW All Out on September 26 in an effort to earn a shot at Mone and the gold at AEW WrestleDream. Thekla defeated Nightingale at the Chicago-area pay-per-view, then went on to lose her title opportunity against "The CEO."
The broken hand is the second injury for Nightingale in 2026. In May, she had to forfeit her spot in the 2026 women's Owen Hart Foundation tournament, as well as vacate her TBS Championship, due to a shoulder injury.
Nightingale's most recent match, a mixed eight-person tornado tag, took place on October 6, but didn't air until "AEW Collision: Grand Slam Paris" on October 10. She teamed alongside her Conglomeration stablemates Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, and Roderick Strong in a loss to the Death Riders' Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta.
