Backstage Details On Komander's AEW Absence
AEW star Komander hasn't been seen on AEW programming since the beginning of September, and his most recent match was for CMLL a few weeks after that. For fans missing the star, Dave Meltzer offered an update on Friday.
According to Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the star is suffering from an injury, but he didn't report what exactly what the injury is. There is hope within the company that he will be back soon.
Komander last performed at Relevos Increibles on September 20, in a loss alongside ROH World Champion Bandido in a match against Mascara Dorada and Soberano Jr. He also recently faced Titan for the CMLL World Welterweight Championship, a match he also lost, the day before.
His most recent bout in AEW was a loss to Nick Wayne on an episode of "AEW Collision." Before that, he competed at AEW All In London in the Casino Gauntlet match, ultimately won by Andrade El Idolo, to determine who earned a contracted shot at the AEW World Championship.
Komander made his AEW debut, wrestling without a contract, in the Face of the Revolution ladder match in March 2023. He officially signed with the company the following month, after being released from his contract by Kaoz Lucha Libre. Prior to his signing with Tony Khan's company, WWE also reportedly had interest in the luchador.
