AEW's Kevin Knight Comments On Split From Mike Bailey
AEW's Kevin Knight has talked about reconciling with "Speedball" Mike Bailey, after turning on his former tag team partner earlier this year.
JetSpeed, the tag team of Knight and Bailey, was formed last year, but just over a year later, Knight turned heel and attacked Bailey, bringing their partnership to an end. In an interview with TMZ's "Inside The Ring," Knight conceded that he may have been a bit harsh on Bailey.
"You know, I think I might have been a little hard on Speedball for not choosing my side at the time," admitted Knight. "But, you know, things happen for a reason. Things happen for a reason, and I think he's been thriving on his own. You know, he's with Will Ospreay and his group now, so I think he's doing well on his own, and I've been doing well on my own as well."
Knight opened up about the possibility of mending fences with Bailey but didn't go into much detail. The former AEW TNT Champion, however, doesn't want to get on Bailey's bad side, as he has no desire to feel his former tag team partner's vicious kicks again.
"So maybe there's some reconciliation. But, you know, that guy kicks so hard. I'm really not trying to experience that ever again. So as long as they stay on that side and we stay on our side, we're good," Knight said.
Knight felt the force of Bailey's kicks during their match on the June 3 edition of "AEW Dynamite," where Knight, then the TNT Champion, got the better of Bailey. Bailey was shocked by Knight's betrayal, but with months having passed since their split, Knight didn't rule out a reunion, although he suggested it might not happen anytime soon.
