Nic Nemeth Recalls Locker Room Reaction To Shocking WWE WrestleMania Moment

When Brock Lesnar pinned The Undertaker at WWE WrestleMania 30, the wrestling world was left stunned. According to former WWE Nic Nemeth, that feeling even extended to the locker room as he and several colleagues initially absorbed the moment in silence.

"I was in our catering," Nemeth said on "Busted Open Radio," recalling the backstage environment at the time. "... It went one, two, three, silence. I think we talked about this last week where it flashes '21-1' on the screen and I go, 'Oh my God, it's official. Oh my God!' ... Everyone's looking around. There's no music. 'It can't be three. Taker wouldn't lose. It doesn't make any sense.' There's no music for a second. That flashed on the screen and I go, 'Oh s***, this is official. Oh my God, he's done it!' Man, unreal. We're in on a lot of stuff behind the scenes. None of us knew that was happening. We're all watching. We were as silent as that arena was. It was crazy."

The Undertaker headed into WrestleMania 30 with a big stage record so impressive that it was dubbed "The Streak." He specifically entered with a 21-0 showing at the event, with names such as Adam "Edge" Copeland, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H falling to him in previous years. Lesnar cemented himself as the "1" by escaping a Tombstone Piledriver attempt, then dropping "The Phenom" with an F5.

The creative decision for Lesnar to conquer Undertaker's streak remains a hot topic of debate to this day. Some argue that Lesnar was the right man to reach such a feat. Others say it should have never been broken to begin with.
