WWE Hall Of Famer Road Dogg Recalls Harrowing Anecdote On The Road With Jeff Jarrett

Plenty of WWE Hall of Famers and other professional wrestlers have provided colorful anecdotes about wild road stories over the years, and D-Generation X member Road Dogg, whose real name is Brian James, is no stranger to revealing more behind a wild tale.

During an interview with HeartasArt on YouTube at Fan Expo Chicago, Road Dogg was initially asked about his favorite moments in the city. After joking he already quizzed former tag team partner Billy Gunn about losing their tag team titles to the Usos in 2015 at the Allstate Arena, James also revealed a harrowing story from a time he was riding with Jeff Jarrett in the city.

"Used to be a club here called the Stay Out club," he explained. "Me and Jeff Jarrett drove right past a dead person [when] leaving. 'There's a dead person on the road.' 'Should we stop?' I looked and I said, 'We've been snorting cocaine for eight hours. What do you think? We're going to keep going...' I've done a lot of stupid things in my life."

Road Dogg has been sober for over 15 years after WWE helped him get into rehab, something he shared on "Insight with Chris Van Vliet" in 2025. He also revealed WWE wanted to film his time getting help, something he turned down.

Jarrett celebrated seven years of sobriety in 2024. The star also entered rehab with WWE's help after two incidents in 2017 where he appeared to wrestle while intoxicated. He revealed more about his struggles with substance abuse during the three episodes surrounding his time with TNA on VICE TV's "Dark Side of the Ring."
