Backstage Report On Tentative Main Event For WWE WrestleMania 43 In Saudi Arabia

After WWE President Nick Khan revealed in an interview this week that WWE is "across the creative" leading into WWE WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer revealed what he's heard regarding the show's main event.

According to Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, following Khan's statement in Varsity, there is belief that WWE is building to current World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi as the Sunday main event. While WWE has not confirmed dates for WrestleMania 43, it has confirmed there will be watch parties in the United States on both Saturday and Sunday of the event, as well as "WWE NXT" and AAA shows following the "Showcase of the Immortals" on both days of WrestleMania weekend.

FW4Online noted in its own report, that Meltzer is not confirming Femi vs. Reigns is locked in as the main event of WrestleMania 43, just the believed main event that WWE wants to run with, as of this moment. Creative plans are always subject to change in WWE, and even Khan noted in the interview that WWE was "across the creative," pending any injuries between now and WrestleMania 43.

Meltzer previously noted in an edition of the Observer that despite speculation Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could once again return for WrestleMania to face-off against Reigns, that would be unlikely due to his filming schedule. Meltzer did speculate that it's always possible The Rock could fly into Riyadh for an appearance on the show, however.

Fans have been clamoring for "The Ruler" to face "The Tribal Chief" for months, following Femi's first victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. Femi won the 2026 King of the Ring tournament, but would forgo the title opportunity he won to face Lesnar once again at SummerSlam.
