Following Roman Reigns' World Heavyweight Championship defense against Penta last night on "WWE Raw," LA Knight confronted him after the show went off the air and delivered a BFT to the "Tribal Chief." Knight has been in pursuit of the world championship since Reigns retained the gold against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, and after weeks of asking for a title shot, "The Megastar" has finally been granted an opportunity at next month's Money In The Bank.

After Knight's attack, Reigns issued the challenge as he was leaving the ring, and this morning, "Raw" General Manager Adam Pearce made the title match official.

"By now, you've all seen and heard what Roman had to say following their encounter. And in light of what took place, I am hereby making it official. October 10th. New Orleans, Louisiana at Money In The Bank. Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. Thank you."

WWE CCO Triple H also took to social media to make the announcement and revealed the match graphic for Reigns vs. Knight next month.

"The Megastar gets his shot at The OTC ...AND the World Heavyweight Championship.Roman Reigns. LA Knight. #MITB"

Knight challenging Reigns at Money In The Bank doesn't come as a surprise, as the matchup has been rumored to take place at the Premium Live Event since their feud began after SummerSlam. Knight has wrestled Reigns one-on-one for a world title in the past, but was unable to defeat the "OTC" when he attempted to strip him of the Undisputed WWE Championship at Crown Jewel 2023. Money In The Bank will also mark Knight's first world title shot since Clash In Paris last year, where he competed against Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship.
