John Cena dedicated a majority of his life to becoming a success in WWE and the pro wrestling world, and has admitted that he misses being in the ring.

Cena, even before his retirement, had spells where he didn't feature in WWE due to his acting commitments and had frequently expressed his desire to wrestle again. Despite everything he achieved in WWE, Cena continues to look back fondly on his time in the wrestling ring.

"I miss all of it every day. I miss performing every single day. And that said, just because I miss it here [in my heart] doesn't make it the right decision here [in my head]," said Cena to "People."

The 17-time world champion said that he often looks back on his early years in wrestling poignantly, particularly when he is in a stressful situation.

"I have moments of nostalgic reflection on the daily. A lot of times, that's when you're overwhelmed by stress or confused or maybe you don't know the answers that you're trying to seek. Nostalgia is in itself looking back to a simpler time in the unknown or during crisis," added the legendary WWE star. "I got daily moments of that, man. Daily. I'll look back on my early wrestling days, or I'll look back on college days, or I'll look back on my life in dormitory school, or even as a kid. That happens on the daily, man."

Cena has been frank about his love for pro wrestling, commenting earlier this year that he prefers WWE and pro wrestling to acting, but had to retire from wrestling as he just couldn't do it anymore. "The Peacemaker" star misses performing in front of an audience, but is now enjoying life after retirement from the other side, as a fan of the business that he grew up loving.
