Jacy Jayne Recalls Learning From Mandy Rose In WWE NXT
Toxic Attraction emerged as a dominant force in "WWE NXT," with Mandy Rose leading the faction on-screen alongside Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin (aka Priscilla Kelly). According to Jayne, Rose's leadership translated behind-the-scenes as well.
During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Jayne opened up about the valuable lessons she learned from Rose, a WWE veteran at that point.
"I learned how to be comfortable in my own skin," Jayne said. "I learned that playing a character, per se, is not really going to play the way you think it is on screen. You more so have to find who you are and apply that to everything, in each situation. Mandy, honestly, really taught me that, because there is no one who is more confident and comfortable in their own skin than Mandy. She was always the nicest person backstage. She looks a certain way and you think she's going to be a little bit of a b[****], but she's the complete opposite. She would give the shirt off of her back to a stranger if she could. She really taught me how to act on-screen and off-screen."
Rose, Jayne, and Dolin first joined forces in the summer of 2021 after the former left WWE's main roster to return to the "NXT" brand. The move proved fruitful for all as Rose captured the NXT Women's Championship, while Jayne and Dolin enjoyed two reigns as NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. It wasn't until the tail-end of the group's run, though, that Jayne said she felt truly comfortable with herself.
Toxic Attraction Helped Jayne Feel Comfortable In Her Own Skin, and Eventually Lead Her Own Faction
"I was on the indies, but I was on the indies for a very short amount of time, so I didn't really have a big name coming in," Jayne said. "I wasn't some crazy athlete. I never went to college. I was literally just an indie wrestler. There was nothing super special about me. So I feel like I had to work 10 times harder to really figure things out and figure out who I am and how I'm going to fit into this group. I feel like it really wasn't until late in Toxic Attraction when I started piecing it all together. Maybe in our second title reign, even maybe after we lost the titles. It was late. I feel like it was at least a year in where I was like, okay, I'm good. I'm feeling myself. I feel comfortable."
Toxic Attraction was downgraded from a trio to a duo at the end of 2022 due to Rose's abrupt departure from WWE. Months later, Dolin and Jayne split up themselves due to the latter's on-screen betrayal.
Jayne now leads a stable of her own, known as Fatal Influence, on the "WWE SmackDown" brand. This group also started in "NXT," with Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx, and Jayne as founding members. When Nyx exited WWE in the fall of 2025, Lainey Reid stepped in to replace her.
With her Fatal Influence cohorts by her side, Jayne went on to capture the NXT Women's Championship on two separate occasions along with the TNA Knockouts World and WWE Women's United States Titles, the latter of which she currently holds. Henley and Reid complement her as the reigning WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.
