Former WWE Star Santino Marella Re-Signs With TNA Wrestling
Everyone's favorite "son of a gun" Santino Marella has re-signed with TNA Wrestling, as first confirmed by "The Johnny I Pro Show Podcast" on Tuesday.
Taking on the role as TNA's on-screen director of authority since Hard to Kill 2023, Marella has been calling the shots for the promotion's must-see matches each Thursday on "TNA Impact" and its pay-per-view events. However, there's been a long-running power struggle since Daria Rae (formerly known as WWE star Sonya Deville) slithered her way in as TNA's on-screen director of operations back in January on the premiere episode of "Impact" on AMC.
Though he handles most things from outside of the ring, Marella has returned to in-ring action recently to set his real-life daughter/"WWE NXT" star Arianna Grace and his future son-in-law Channing Lorenzo straight. His last in-ring match occurred on the June 4 (tape delayed) edition of "Impact," where he and the newly crowned Knockouts World Champion Indi Hartwell secured a victory over Grace and Lorenzo in their mixed tag team match.
Now, Marella's focus is on TNA's upcoming pay-per-view event, Destination X, on Sunday, November 15, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As of this report, the main event is set, as Leon Slater will defend his TNA World Championship against Trey Miguel. Miguel secured his opportunity after winning the number one contenders ladder match last Thursday.
