With AEW WrestleDream 2026 in the rear-view mirror, the stars of All Elite Wrestling traveled to Coral Gables, Florida for the October 21 episode of "AEW Dynamite." Ilja Dragunov made a successful in-ring debut against "Speedball" Mike Bailey. Mark Davis and Jake Doyle earned themselves a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships, and Queen Aminata also earned herself a shot at Persephone's AEW TBS Championship with a win over the returning Maya World.

Despite all of that action, it ended up being a mixed bag in the television ratings department. According to Wrestlenomics, the October 21 episode of "Dynamite" averaged a total of 661,000 viewers, marking a 8% drop from the 715,000 viewers which the first two hours of the three-hour block of programming that aired on October 14 averaged. The show also dropped 12% below the trailing four week average of 752,000 viewers, though the averages for October 2026 and the third quarter of 2026 are above the same periods from last year by 42% and 39% respectively. As always with AEW shows, none of these figures factor in those who streamed the show live on HBO MAX.

In the key demographics, there was some positive news for AEW. This past week's "Dynamite" posted a 0.15 number, a 7% increase on the 0.14 number posted seven days earlier, and puts the show back in line with the trailing four week average of 0.15. The average for October 2026 and the third quarter of 2026 also currently sits at a 0.15 number, 67% higher than the same periods last year. As far as where "Dynamite" ranked, only the NBA on ESPN and the WNBA playoffs on the USA Network ranked higher in the 18-49 demo. According to Dave Meltzer, the show also posted a 0.23 number in the 25-54 demographic, also being beaten by the NBA and WNBA games, though he noted that the main event between Dragunov and Bailey which took place after 10PM ET placed second in the demo behind the NBA for that hour.
