Tony Khan Comments On Hurt Syndicate's AEW Absence
AEW's Tony Khan has explained The Hurt Syndicate's absence from the promotion.
The Hurt Syndicate have made sporadic appearances in AEW lately, with their last match coming at All In, when they teamed up with Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall to defeat Shane Taylor Promotions. Khan spoke about the Hurt Syndicate during the WrestleDream media call, explaining how the group are hired guns in AEW, and that they could appear anytime.
"The Hurt Syndicate and Mick Foley both involved in Double or Nothing, which I thought was one of the best shows of the year, and AEW All In London, one of the best shows of the year," Khan said. "In the ring, The Hurt Syndicate have said they are for hire, so we could see them any place, any time, I think, for the right amount of money. And certainly, one thing they did not want to do was beat up Big Justice and The Rizzler. They were happy to work with Big Boom A.J., Big Justice and The Rizzler, and turned things around."
Khan stated that the group would work under the right conditions, which is why they collaborated with Big Justice and The Rizzler. The AEW CEO said that he gets along well with all members of the group and the trio has his respect.
"The Hurt Syndicate, they won't work with just anybody, but they are for hire under the right circumstances, kind of like The A-Team. And I think it'll be interesting to see as they get involved. I have a lot of respect for Bobby and Shelton and MVP, and they could come in as hired guns for potentially anybody here," he added.
The group will likely be a part of AEW for the foreseeable future, as MVP revealed earlier in the year that he and Shelton Benjamin had recently signed contract extensions, while also praising Tony Khan and the way he has treated them in the promotion.
