For the last couple of months, the 2027 WWE Royal Rumble has been an event with a venue, the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, but not a date. But with the start of 2027 quickly closing in, WWE has finally decided to reveal when the first of their Big Five shows will be taking place. Taking to X early Monday afternoon, the promotion announced that the Royal Rumble will be held on Saturday, February 6. The announcement confirms a previous rumor that WWE was looking to hold the Rumble on the 6th.

The announcement confirms that the Royal Rumble will remain a one night PLE for 2027, after previous reports had suggested WWE was considering turning the Rumble into a two night event, though the promotion was said to be considering that more for 2028 than 2027. The Rumble will occur one day before AEW Dynasty takes place in Liverpool, England, meaning WWE and AEW will have major events on the same weekend yet again, though it will be the rare occurrence where WWE doesn't put an event head to head against their rival.

As per usual, the Royal Rumble will serve as the kickoff to the Road to WrestleMania, with WrestleMania 43 set for next April. However, the Rumble will have a big more significance than usual for North American wrestling fans, as WrestleMania 43 is currently scheduled to take place over two nights in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, making it the first WrestleMania to take place outside of North America. As such, the Rumble will serve as the biggest WWE event to take place in North America during the WrestleMania season.
