Education
Raphael began working in the sports journalism profession back in 2005. Since then, he has covered sports at both a local and national level. After working at newspapers in South Carolina, he made the jump to ESPN in 2007 as a part of the stats and research department. After leaving ESPN in 2009, Raphael began his journey as a freelance writer. He started working for MMA Ratings, where he would eventually launch two long-running podcasts. Along with his time there, he would join additional outlets such as Fansided MMA and Daily DDT where he covered professional wrestling and combat sports. He did this while participating in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts on an amateur level. Raphael joined Static Media to produce content for Wrestling Inc. in 2022.
