WWE Raw Results (09/12) - Edge Vs. Dominik Mysterio, Johnny Gargano Vs. Chad Gable, New Women's Tag Team Champions Crowned

Edge seeks retribution against former ally Dominik Mysterio as the two face off in singles competition. Edge formed Judgment Day with Damian Priest during WrestleMania 38. Rhea Ripley joined the group shortly after, but the pair betrayed him after aligning themselves with new leader Finn Balor in June. Edge found back-up with The Mysterios, but Dominik shocked the world after he betrayed Edge and his father to officially join Judgment Day during Clash At The Castle. Will Edge be able to get his revenge tonight?

Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah will put their WWE Women's Tag Team Titles on the line against Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL. This will be Rodriguez and Aliyah's first title defense since defeating Kai and SKY in the finals of the tournament to crown new champions in controversial fashion. Prior to that, the titles were vacated after Sasha Banks and Naomi vacated the belts and were indefinitely suspended for no-showing an episode of "Raw" back in May due to frustrations with their booking.

Johnny Gargano will also wrestle for the first time since making his surprise return to the company. Gargano came back on the August 22 edition of "Raw" in Toronto to the delight of many. Before that, Gargano had opted not to renew his deal in December of last year, as he and wife Candice LeRae were expecting their first child.

We Hear From Seth Freakin Rollins

We are live! Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton greet audiences at home as Seth "Freakin" Rollins heads to the ring.

Rollins grabs a mic and welcomes fans to "Monday Night Rollins". He asks the crowd if they believe in karma before saying he was sceptical about it until he beat Matt Riddle at Clash At The Castle in front of 60,000 fans. Rollins addresses Riddle's request for a rematch and says he isn't interested in it. Rollins says he's been pondering what's next for him over the past week and says it has been far too long since he's held championship gold.

Riddle's music hits and he heads to the ring to a massive pop. Riddle charges at Rollins and the two men go at it. Riddle delivers a series of kicks before tossing him out of the ring. Rollins sends Riddle's head into the announce desk before retreating. Riddle chases him and the two head into the crowd. Rollins manages to escape before heading to the back. Riddle goes to chase him, but Judgment Day's music hits before he can pursue him.

Balor and Priest slowly walk to the ring. Balor says they aren't there to fight as Priest tells him to take it easy. Priest says they're there to offer him a spot in their group. He says they have history before Balor says that Riddle has watched Dominik Mysterio step out of his father's shadow. Balor says that they can help Riddle with his problems. Riddle declines their offer before Balor says that you either stand with Judgment Day or are in their way. Riddle knocks Priest and Balor to the outside as he stands tall.

Matt Riddle vs. Finn Balor

Back from the break, a match between Riddle and Balor has been made official. Riddle delivers a kick, followed by a senton. He goes for a pin, but Balor kicks out. Balor targets Riddle's leg before sending him to the mat. He stomps on Riddle's neck, then hits a back elbow. Balor delivers a neck breaker, then goes for a pin but Riddle kicks out.

Riddle manages to send Balor to the outside, then goes for a kick off the apron but Priest inserts himself between the two men. Balor then looks for a stomp, but Riddle moves out of the way. Riddle hits several kicks before Balor delivers a swinging neck breaker on the apron.

Back from the break, Balor knocks Riddle to the mat. Riddle fires back with a Fisherman's Suplex, followed by a few chops. He delivers a kick before hitting a couple of forearms and a suplex. Balor rolls to the outside as Riddle follows and delivers a running kick on the apron. He goes flying before tossing Balor back in the ring.

Riddle delivers a ripcord knee, then ascends to the top but Priest causes a distraction. Balor rolls him up, but Riddle kicks out. Balor hits a swinging neck breaker as Rey Mysterio comes out of nowhere and levels Damian Priest. Riddle hits the Bro To Sleep, followed by a German Suplex. He goes for a pin, but Balor kicks out. Riddle looks for the Floating Bro, but Balor gets the knees up. He delivers a drop kick, but Riddle fires back with a DDT off the ropes. Seth Rollins runs down to the ring, allowing Balor to take advantage and hit the Coup De Grace for the win.

After the match, Rollins delivers a Curb Stomp to Riddle before telling him it's over and he should move on.

We head backstage to Sarah Schreiber and Damage CTRL. Bayley says Dakota Kai and IYO SKY should've won the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles before Kai says they will make up for the mistakes of the past. SKY says that they own the women's division.

Back from the break, we head backstage to Dominik Mysterio. He says he's only been known as Rey Mysterio's son, but at Clash At The Castle, he became his own person and it felt good. He says that Edge got what he deserved and he will finish what he started. He addresses Rey and says that he knows he's disappointed, but it's too bad. He says Rey should've gotten to know him and asked him what he wanted from his career. We see Rhea Ripley whisper something in his ear before continuing on to say that he's tired of living under his father's shadow. He says he isn't his baby boy anymore, but he's now a man.

We then head to a video of Johnny Gargano's return to WWE. We head backstage to Austin Theory, who says that he knows who Johnny Gargano's first opponent will be. He says that it's not him because his hands are full, but his close friend Chad Gable. Gable says that after tonight, everyone will know him as Johnny Shoosh.

Back from the break, Damage CTRL heads to the ring. Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah follow.

Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah (c) vs. Damage CTRL for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships

Rodriguez and Kai begin the action. The bell rings and Rodriguez delivers a delayed vertical suplex to Kai. Aliyah tags in and whips Kai into the corner. She delivers a splash and tags Rodriguez back in. Rodriguez follows suit and goes for a pin, but Kai kicks out once again. Rodriguez delivers a lariat, followed by an elbow. Kai rolls to the outside before Rodriguez tosses Aliyah onto Kai over the top rope.

Back from the break, Rodriguez delivers a shoulder block to SKY. Aliyah tags in and delivers a forearm to SKY. Aliyah sends SKY to the mat before raining down right hands. She hits an arm drag before SKY tags Kai in. Kai whips Aliyah into the corner, then goes for a pin but Aliyah kicks out. SKY tags back in and delivers several kicks to Aliyah. She delivers a double knee before Kai tags back in. Kai locks her in a chinlock before SKY tags back in. SKY locks in a shoulder submission, but Aliyah escapes. SKY plants Aliyah on the mat before Kai tags in. Kai and SKY look for a double vertical suplex, but Aliyah counters into a double neck breaker. She manages to make the hot tag to Rodriguez.

Rodriguez tags Kai down with a couple of lariats. She hits a twisting splash before Aliyah tags herself back in. Rodriguez sends Aliyah onto Kai before SKY levels her. Aliyah rolls up Kai, but Kai kicks out. Aliyah hits a jaw breaker and sends Kai face first into the mat. She goes for a pin, but Bayley puts Kai's foot onto the rope to break it up. Aliyah delivers a baseball kick to Bayley before SKY takes her out. Kai delivers the Kai-Ropractor for the win.

We head backstage to Dominik Mysterio preparing for his match. Rey walks up to him and says he didn't know he was holding all that inside. He says that he would change everything if he could and they can still fix things. Dominik completely ignores Rey and pretends he isn't there as Rey tells him not to fight Edge. Rey warns him that Edge won't hold back and if he goes through with the match, things will never go back to the way they were. Rhea Ripley walks in and says that Dominik is a man now that doesn't need his father.

Back at ringside, Alpha Academy heads to the ring. Johnny Gargano follows.

Johnny Gargano vs. Chad Gable

Back from the break, the bell rings and the two lock up. Gargano trips Gable before Gable locks in an arm submission. Gargano escapes and locks in a chinlock. Gable gets to his feet before Gargano hits a hurricanrana and an arm drag. He hits a drop kick, then rolls up Gable. Gable kicks out and sends Gargano to the mat with a right hand. Gable delivers a chop, but Gargano fires back with a kick to Gable's face. Gable rolls to the outside and Gargano delivers a kick through the ropes. Gargano hits a cannonball off the apron.

Back from the break, Gable sends Gargano to the mat. Gargano delivers a few forearms to Gable, followed by a diving crossbody. He hits a step-up insiguri, followed by a spear. He goes for a pin, but Gable kicks out. Gable locks in the ankle, but Gargano grabs the ropes. Gable delivers a forearm to Gargano, followed by a suplex. He goes for a pin, but Gable kicks out. Gable looks for a diving head butt, but Gargano counters it into a crossface. Gable manages to reverse it into the ankle lock, but Gargano escapes. Gargano sends Gable out of the ring and delivers a tope suicida through the middle rope. He hits a DDT for the win.

Winner: Johnny Gargano

After the match, Otis looks to attack Gargano. Gargano retreats, but before he can make it to the back, Austin Theory attacks him from behind with his Money In The Bank briefcase before taking a selfie with him.

Kevin Owens Confronts Austin Theory

Back from the break, Theory is in the ring. He taunts Gargano before saying someone had to show him how things work on "Raw". He says Johnny Wrestling is an "overrated bottom feeding fish at the bottom of the food chain."

Kevin Owens' music hits and he heads to the ring. Theory tells Owens to shut up before he can even talk because he is sick of everyone ruining his moments. Owens says that everyone heard him say all of that last week and says that while he said Theory was the handpicked future of the company, that's not how things work anymore. Theory says no one can ever look like him. Owens calls him a delusional jackass before saying that everything he's accomplished was handed to him. Owens says he can't blame him, but says they are complete opposites and he is proud of that. He says that hundreds of guys like him have fizzled out, but you can count the men like him on one hand because they are one in a million. He says that this place needs people like him because they are the heart and soul of this business. He says people like Theory are the appendix of the business and says he has been watching him, but he doesn't have what he takes. Owens says that he needs to leave his ego at the door and needs to unleash his passion to prove him wrong and become the future.

Theory looks down before showing off his muscles. He tells Owens he will never be like him before Owens says that talking sense into him didn't work. He then slaps him in the face before firing down right hands. Theory fights back and the two men begin brawling. Referees try to break up the pair, but Owens kicks Theory before more officials come down. The two men keep going at it. Owens looks for the Stunner, but Theory rolls out of the ring.

Back from the break, Bianca Belair heads to the ring. She grabs a mic and says if she has learned anything these past few weeks, it's that she has learned she has to stay ready. She says that's why she's decided to issue an open challenge for her title. 

Sonya Deville's music hits and she heads to the ring. Deville asks her why she looks confused before saying she made a mockery of her position and made her lose her job as WWE official. Belair calls for the referee as Deville gets in the ring.

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sonya Deville for the Raw Women's Championship

Back from the break, the two lock up. Deville trips Belair before Deville delivers a drop kick. Belair delivers a kick to Deville, followed by a couple of clotheslines. She delivers a drop kick, followed by a suplex. Belair hits a standing moonsault, then goes for a pin but Deville kicks out. The two women spill to the outside.

Back from the break, Belair sends Deville to the mat. Deville sends Belair face first into the middle turnbuckle before delivering a kick. Deville sends Belair to the outside, then sends her head into the announce desk. Deville tosses Belair back in the ring, then goes for a pin but Belair kicks out. Belair rolls up Deville, but Deville kicks out. Belair delivers a Fallaway Slam, then looks for a standing moonsault, but Deville rolls out of the way. She hits a running knee, then goes for a pin but Belair kicks out. Deville hits several kicks before Belair sends her into the mat. She sends Deville face first into the middle turnbuckle, but Deville fires back with a knee off the middle rope. She goes for a pin, but Belair kicks out. Belair hits a suplex, then follows it up with the KOD for the win.

After the match, Bayley heads to the ring. She congratulates IYO SKY and Dakota Kai on their win before saying they're going to take over the entire division. Bayley says that she thinks Belair's win fed her big ego before saying Belair won't be able to sleep at night until she gets a match with Bayley.

Belair lays her title down as Damage CTRL surrounds the ring. Belair tries to fight her way out, but Damage CTRL outnumber her. Alexa Bliss and Asuka run down to make the save. Belair, Asuka and Bliss surround Bayley before Belair delivers a spinebuster to her.

Omos (w/ MVP) vs. Ryan Toombs and Khash Marazi

Back from the break, Omos heads to the ring with MVP.

The bell rings and Omos beats both men down. He hits Toombs with a bodyslam, then tosses Marazi back into the ring. He hits Toombs with a big boot, then sends Marazi face first into the top turnbuckle. He delivers a spinebuster to both men, then stacks them up and pins them for the win.

We head backstage to Edge and Rey Mysterio. Rey begs Edge to give him one more chance to convince Dominik, but Edge says he needs to pay for what he did. He says that he needs to pay for his actions and the match is going to happen whether he likes it or not.

Back from the break, we head backstage to Seth Rollins. He says that if you're going after the face of Monday Night "Raw", you can't miss. Bobby Lashley walks in and says that "he who has the gold is the face of Monday Night "Raw". Rollins says that wasn't the title he was talking about, but he will gladly take the United States Championship off him. He challenges him to a match for the belt next week and Lashley accepts.

We then head to an exclusive interview of The Miz at home. Maryse walks in and asks if he's ready for the premiere. Miz asks if she really wants to go before Maryse convinces him that Dexter Lumis can't get into their place. Miz says that he had to have a police escort last week, but he was still able to get in. He says he doesn't walk to talk about it before kicking everyone out of his home. We then see Dexter Lumis in his home with a character of Miz, Maryse and their kids.

Back from the break, Edge heads to the ring. Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley follow.

Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rhea Ripley)

The bell rings and Edge pushes Mysterio into the corner. He sends him face first into the turnbuckle, followed by a bodyslam. Edge clotheslines Mysterio, then delivers a baseball dropkick that sends Mysterio out of the ring. Edge sends Mysterio off the barricade. He sends Mysterio's head off the announce desk, then into the ring steps. He delivers a kick, then tosses him back in the ring. Ripley trips Edge on the apron, allowing Mysterio to push him into the ring steps.

Back from the break, Mysterio is targeting Edge's leg. He hits three suplexes on Edge. The two men teeter on the ropes, but Ripley pushes Edge off and delivers a Frog Splash. He goes for a pin, but Edge kicks out. Edge sends Mysterio into the ring post shoulder first, the follows it up with a flapjack and a clothesline. Edge hits a DDT, then looks for the Spear. Mysterio reverses it into a Half Boston Crab. Edge escapes and ties Mysterio up in the ropes. He hits ten right hands to Mysterio's head, then looks for the Spear again, but Rey runs down and steps between the two men. Priest drags him out of the ring and sends Rey into the announce desk. Balor runs down and goes after Edge as the referee calls for the bell.

Rhea Ripley grabs a chair and gives it to Mysterio. Mysterio hits Edge's leg with it several times before Priest sets it up on the chair and Balor hits a Coup De Grace.
