21st-century American Independent Wrestling, 2000s WWE, AEW
- A lifelong wrestling fan, Robert's first show was a WWE house show in Las Vegas during the summer of 2007. Since then, he's attended numerous events across the US for WWE, AEW, and NJPW.
- In pursuit of his Bachelor's, Robert's senior thesis saw him write "The Grappling Arts: A Handbook of Professional Wrestling, From the Perspective of a Mark." The project consisted of 26 essays, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each section explored a term associated with the pro wrestling industry through the lenses of cultural, fandom, and performance studies.
- He can be regularly spotted at shows in the greater New York City area, from major arena shows to dingy indie cards.
Experience
Robert was first introduced to professional wrestling at the age of 7, during an episode of "Monday Night Raw" during the road to WrestleMania 23. On the prowl for new content, he dug through his family's collection of old WWF and WCW tapes to satiate his hunger for new shows. Robert broke into the industry in early 2022, earning a position with Future Stars of Wrestling as an online content writer where he would recap shows for the promotion. His time with FSW saw him cover events for the organization and notable independent talents including Hammerstone, Chris Bey, and Richard Holliday. He joined the ranks of Static Media the summer of that year, providing his insight as a Features Writer for Wrestling Inc. Armed with a passion for the business and a desire to learn more about it, Robert hopes to apply his skills to further the world of wrestling into the future.
Education
Robert attended SUNY Purchase College in Westchester County, New York beginning in 2018. He graduated as a part of the class of 2022 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Media Studies and Anthropology, as well as having minored in History. His time there supplemented his writing ability with skills in video editing and production, and he hopes to expand these abilities in time.
